Corise Opthocare Eye Drops (5ml) is a prescription-only veterinary immunomodulatory ophthalmic solution formulated for the targeted management of chronic eye diseases in dogs and cats. The active pharmaceutical ingredient, Cyclosporine IP (0.1% w/v or 1 mg/ml), acts as a potent local immunosuppressant that halts T-cell mediated autoimmune destruction within the lacrimal (tear) glands. It is fortified with Benzalkonium Chloride IP ($0.004% w/v), which acts as a stabilizer and antimicrobial preservative to ensure solution integrity during prolonged therapeutic regimens.
In companion animals, Opthocare is widely recognized as a first-line therapy for Keratoconjunctivitis Sicca (KCS), commonly known as "dry eye syndrome." By down-regulating immune-mediated inflammation within the lacrimal tissue, Cyclosporine restores the natural production and adequate viscosity of the eye's aqueous layer. This action preserves the critical homeostatic balance of the ocular surface, prevents progressive corneal ulcers, alleviates chronic pigmentary keratitis, and minimizes tissue scarring. Administered topically as directed by a veterinarian, Opthocare significantly reduces painful eye inflammation, discharge, redness, and irritation, protecting and maintaining long-term vision and baseline comfort for pets.
