Corise Opthocare KT (5ml) is a prescription-only veterinary dual-action ophthalmic solution formulated for the treatment of acute bacterial eye infections accompanied by severe pain, swelling, and localized tissue inflammation in dogs and cats. The formulation contains two high-efficacy active pharmaceutical ingredients: Moxifloxacin Hydrochloride (0.5% w/v) and Ketorolac Tromethamine (0.5% w/v). It is preserved with Benzalkonium Chloride Solution (0.02% w/v) to ensure absolute stability and sterile integrity during treatment.
Moxifloxacin is a fourth-generation fluoroquinolone antibiotic that exhibits potent, broad-spectrum bactericidal activity. It works by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV enzymes, rapidly halting bacterial DNA replication and clearing stubborn pathogens. Complementing this, Ketorolac Tromethamine acts as a powerful topical non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). By blocking cyclooxygenase (COX) pathways and reducing prostaglandin production, Ketorolac effectively lowers pain signals, heat, and swelling at the site of infection. In veterinary medicine, Opthocare KT is widely indicated for managing bacterial conjunctivitis, corneal bacterial infections, and inflammation associated with seasonal environmental allergies. It is generally not recommended for puppies or kittens under 1 year of age unless specified by a veterinarian.
