Corise Eyegel (5ml) is a premium veterinary lubricating ophthalmic gel formulated to provide intensive, long-lasting moisture and surface protection for the eyes of dogs and cats. The active pharmaceutical ingredient is Carbomer 980 (0.2% w/v), a high-molecular-weight hydrophilic polymer that mimics the natural mucin layer of the tear film. It is preserved safely with Cetrimide (0.01% w/v) in a sterile gel base to ensure ongoing purity throughout the treatment cycle.
Unlike standard aqueous eye drops that drain or evaporate within minutes, Carbomer-based gels possess exceptional viscoelastic properties. The gel structure temporarily thins out during a blink to spread smoothly across the cornea, then returns to a thick, highly stable fluid layer between blinks. This actions forms a durable, transparent shield that traps moisture, stabilizes the tear film, and prevents corneal dehydration. In veterinary medicine, Corise Eyegel is a core therapy for managing Keratoconjunctivitis Sicca (KCS/Dry Eye Syndrome), chronic corneal exposure, and general ocular irritation. It is also routinely used during general anesthesia to protect against corneal ulcers while a pet’s blink reflex is temporarily suspended.
