Corise Opthocare Mono (5ml) is a prescription-only veterinary aminoglycoside antibiotic ophthalmic solution formulated to treat acute and chronic bacterial eye infections in dogs and cats. The active pharmaceutical ingredient, Tobramycin USP (0.3% w/v), provides broad-spectrum bactericidal activity by binding to the 30S ribosomal subunit of susceptible bacteria. This actions disrupts protein synthesis, rapidly halting bacterial growth and clearing localized pathogens.

Opthocare Mono is effective against a wide range of aerobic Gram-negative microorganisms and select Gram-positive aerobic bacteria, showing enhanced efficacy against clinical isolates like Pseudomonas aeruginosa compared to older-generation antibiotics like gentamicin. In veterinary medicine, it is prescribed for conditions including bacterial conjunctivitis, keratitis (corneal inflammation), blepharitis (eyelid disease), and dacryocystitis. It is also utilized for post-surgical care—such as following a "cherry eye" correction—and to manage secondary bacterial infections arising from physical injury or environmental irritation. Applied topically, it resolves thick eye discharge, pain, and redness without causing severe systemic absorption or tissue irritation.
