Corise Opthocare SC (10ml) is a specialized veterinary hyperosmotic ophthalmic solution formulated to manage corneal edema (excess fluid accumulation in the cornea) and support corneal tissue recovery in dogs and cats. The active pharmaceutical ingredient is Sodium Chloride IP (5.0% w/v), balanced in a sterile aqueous vehicle and preserved with Benzalkonium Chloride Solution IP (0.02% v/v) to ensure clinical sterility during the treatment cycle.
Corneal edema causes a painful, bluish-grey cloudiness over the eye, which can severely compromise a pet's vision and lead to progressive tissue damage. Opthocare SC works by establishing a controlled hypertonic osmotic gradient across the ocular surface. By increasing the solute concentration outside the corneal tissue, it naturally draws out trapped, excess fluid from the corneal stroma. This actions reduces localized swelling, lowers fluid pressure, and restores corneal clarity. In veterinary practice, Opthocare SC is widely indicated for managing endothelial dystrophy, advanced corneal ulcers, and fluid retention linked to anterior lens luxation. Applied topically under veterinary guidance, it provides fast relief from edema-related pain while minimizing ocular toxicity compared to alternative hyperosmotic agents.
