Savavet Oscinap (10ml) is an advanced veterinary antioxidant and lubricating ophthalmic solution formulated to protect ocular health, reduce oxidative stress, and manage the early stages of degenerative eye disorders in dogs and cats. This specialized formula combines a cellular antioxidant with a high-performance surface protectant: N-Acetyl Carnosine (1.0% w/v) and Carboxymethylcellulose Sodium IP (0.3% w/v), fortified with Glycerin IP (1.0% w/v) in a sterile aqueous vehicle.
Each component serves a critical role in slowing age-related and environmental visual decline. N-Acetyl Carnosine (NAC) acts as a highly stable "prodrug" that easily penetrates the lipid and aqueous layers of the cornea. Once inside the eye, it gradually breaks down into L-carnosine—a potent anti-glycating agent and universal antioxidant that actively scavenges free radicals, shields DNA from light damage, and protects delicate crystalline lens proteins from clumping. Carboxymethylcellulose (SCMC) works dynamically alongside Glycerin to form a highly bio-adhesive, lubricating moisture shield on the surface of the eye. This action delivers long-lasting relief from painful dry friction, burning, and environmental irritation while keeping the cornea clear. Clinical veterinary studies suggest that early therapeutic use of topical NAC can help reduce lens opacity and stall the progression of nuclear sclerosis and senile cataracts in senior pets.
