Virbac Epi-Otic is a global gold-standard, non-irritating, pH-balanced veterinary ear cleanser scientifically formulated for routine ear hygiene, heavy wax removal, and preventative care in dogs and cats. The advanced formulation contains two primary active ingredients: Salicylic Acid (0.1% w/v) and Sulfosuccinate, enhanced by proprietary SIS (Skin Innovative Science) Technology® and Defensin Technology®.
Each component is selected to optimize aural health. Salicylic Acid acts as a highly efficient cerumenolytic (wax-dissolving) and keratolytic agent, gently exfoliating dead skin cells and lifting away hardened grease, dirt, and cellular debris without mechanical scrubbing. The addition of Monosaccharides (D-Galactose, D-Mannose, and L-Rhamnose) works through Glycotechnology to prevent common pathogenic bacteria and yeasts (Malassezia pachydermatis) from adhering to the ear canal lining. Furthermore, Boldo leaf extract and Meadowsweet extract work in tandem to stimulate the pet's natural skin defenses and minimize inflammation. Featuring an alcohol-free, non-stinging formula, Epi-Otic is widely utilized as a routine maintenance cleaner for swimming or allergy-prone pets, and as a critical pre-treatment flush to maximize the efficacy of prescription antibiotic or antifungal ear drops.
